Description

We are now looking to recruit experienced Chalet Host couples to work our chalets in the French Alps and also one couple for Grimentz in Switzerland for next winter.

For our couple positions at least one person from the couple must
have experience of cooking quality food for groups and you must be
mature and outgoing. Whilst professional chefs are not required you must
be able to cook high quality meals for a large number of people in one
go! Of paramount importance is your ability to welcome the guests and
keep them happy alongside doing the more mundane tasks such as keeping
the chalet clean.

We expect you to run and look after the chalets as if they were your own Although its hard work we do expect that you should be able to ski/snowboard on about 5 days during the week, both with the guests and by yourselves.

Job Description

Provide all meals to a high standard, 6 days per week. Meals to consist of breakfast, afternoon tea, children's high teas, when necessary and dinner (taking account of any special requirements such as vegetarian meals and allergies etc.) Presenting all meals in a careful and imaginative way. Serving, clearing away and washing up. Planning and shopping for food
Be responsible for ensuring that all budgets are adhered to and that all financial records are maintained for inspection. Maintain adequate records for things such as tax de sejour payments
Responsible for the overall cleanliness and presentation of the chalet on changeover day and throughout the week
Ensure that excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in/around the chalet at all times
Help to set up and close down the chalet at the start and end of the season
Prepare laundry for collection /possibly help with delivery of laundry as required
Take the guests skiing as a ski host (i.e. no instruction simply social skiing)
Collect guests lift passes and take guests to lessons on the first day and to the ski hire shop.

Requirements

Skills and Experience Required

Good communication and organisational skills

Ability to cook high quality meals under a strict budget and for a large number of people sometimes with differing dietary requirements

Ability to clean to a very high standard

Ability to work very hard all season whilst remaining cheerful and courteous to all guests (even difficult ones!)To be clean, tidy and cheerful at all times

You must be able to ski/snowboard and to have visited a ski resort

You must be computer literate and be able to use spreadsheets

Notes:

You both must have a UK NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBER and a UK BANK ACCOUNT - do not apply unless you have these
