Description

We're looking for confident, conversational French-speakers with previous experience of working or volunteering with young people for our Tour Guide roles.

PGL is the UK's leading provider of residential activity holidays and study courses for young people.

We have an impressive 19th century French country house, set in acres of private grounds, in the Nord Pas de Calais region of France.

The centre is equipped with an on-site bar and games room, various sports facilities including floodlit football pitches, volleyball court and boules area.

Ideally, you'll be a language graduate with customer service experience, however we are still keen to hear from those with a competent level of spoken French wishing to improve their language skills.

Your main duty is to ensure that our guests receive exceptional service throughout their stay. You'll act as the liaison between your group's teaching staff and the centre staff.

Primarily you'll be responsible for accompanying guests on excursions, ensuring itineraries run to plan, assisting coach drivers with route finding, serving evening meals and delivering a programme of evening activities for your group.

You'll mix your time between leading excursions and working in hospitality roles at the Chateau, including the general hygiene and upkeep of accommodation and facilities to ensure the centre is ready for guests when they arrive.

The centre operates an extensive World War I educational tours programme, giving you the opportunity to increase your historical knowledge of this interesting area.

As well as a competitive wage, you'll receive transport to our centre in North West France from a UK departure point, meals, free uniform with accommodation provided.

Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure, which PGL will pay for.

You need to possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this position. Applicants need to have a UK address, UK NI number and be able to depart from a UK departure point.

PGL is committed to the principle of equality and diversity. We welcome applicants from all sectors of the community.
