Have you studied/worked in the Outdoor Industry? Interested in training to become a Coasteering Instructor?

We require an Instructor to lead Coasteering sessions from our centre in Polzeath, North Cornwall. The post is only available for the Summer months in 2012.

You need to be a strong and confident swimmer in good physical shape, with experience of marine activities. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and be able to lend confidence and authority to groups in a challenging and dynamic environment. Any experience of leading groups in the outdoor environment, as well as lifeguard skills (RLSS or NARS) and first aid qualifications will aid your application.

We will provide coasteering instructor training and will pay for an SLGB Coasteering Award or equivalent. There will also be potential for further experience/training in other activities.

The post is only available for the Summer months, with the potential for freelance work in the autumn. There may also be opportunities for summer staff to progress up to permanent staff within the company.

Requirements

Applicants must be able to swim 400m in under 7.5 mins and will preferably have experience of first aid and outdoor work, including group management and leadership. NARS or RLSS beach lifeguard qualifications are a bonus.
