Join the most exciting and professional outdoor team in Ireland!

We take full advantage of the perfect conditions in Carlingford Lough for teaching dinghy sailing in our Pico’s to a huge variety of clients. Each year we welcome enthusiastic individuals to instruct sailing in some of the most breath taking scenery in Ireland.

As a sailing instructor you will be expected to teach all aspects of sailing and adapt session plans for compete beginners to improving sailing techniques at a competitive level. Health and safety is our top priority and instructors must have experience understanding weather and tidal patterns as well as the correct use of equipment.

Our Instructors are trained on all activities which provides an opportunity to shine elsewhere! It is important to us that instructors have a good sense of humour, are charismatic and able to adapt their teaching techniques and session plans to suit their clientele.

All positions start with a minimum of one week training/induction course. Accommodation can be provided if required.

Requirements

Excellent people skills and experience working with young people is essential. You must be enthusiastic and passionate about working and playing outdoors!

Minimum age: 18 years

The following qualifications are needed for this position:

RYA/ISA or equivalent Dinghy Instructor
RYA/ISA or equivalent powerboat level 2 or Safety Boat
Valid First Aid

All outdoor qualifications are desirable and will be taken into consideration.

We take great pride in offering an extensive induction week that covers a huge variety of activities. We provide opportunities to build experience and skills, pivotal to furthering a career in the outdoor industry!

Whether this is your first career in the outdoors or you are a qualified instructor, our aim is to motivate and support you to be the best of your ability. Staff Accommodation:

Our newly renovated staff accommodation is located a minutes’ walk from the Adventure Centre. Instructors can live there temporarily at a subsidised rate and trainee instructors live here free of charge. Fitted with a full kitchen, living/social area and laundry facilities, it has all you need. Male and female comfortable dorm style rooms are provided and the house can accommodate up to 18 people.

Due to the high numbers of holiday homes it is often very easy to find short term rental property in Carlingford if interested.

Location:

Carlingford is situated just under an hour to Belfast and Dublin Airports. It is just 15 minutes away from Newry City which has 2 large shopping malls, supermarkets, a cinema and train and bus stations with links to Belfast and Dublin. In the opposite direction is Dundalk which also has transport links to Dublin, a shopping mall, cinema and bustling night life. Carlingford is very easy to get to via public transport.
