Description

Due to growth in the business Fit For Sport is now seeking to expand our Delivery Management Team with the addition of an Area Manager. Reporting to the COO you are responsible for managing and maintaining high quality children’s activity provision.

What You Will Be Doing:

1. Recruitment, Training and Development of all Children's Activity Professionals (CAP) Staff.
 
2. Ensure that all CAP’s receive a full effective induction programme.                                                    

  • In line with Regional budgets, support with recruiting appropriate numbers of qualified CAPs to operate the children’s activity services.
  • Ensure all CAPs are appropriately trained in accordance with the FFS Core Competency, Safeguarding and induction programme and that they fully understand how all other settings operate.
  • Ensure all CAP’s are given opportunities to maximise their personal development through additional training/coaching.
  • Ensure all CAPs are aware of which areas of performance they are to be assessed on and ensure that they are given regular feedback on their performance.
  • Provide technical assistance to members of the team to improve their level of service delivery through on the spot coaching, one-to-one sessions and team meetings/training sessions.

3. Culture, Service and Standards

Ensure the team;

  • Provide a high level of customer service to the Leisure Partner and their members 
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries. 
  • Maintain professional standards – uniform, appearance etc.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations and injuries.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training.
  • Are the finest ambassadors of FFS at all times.
  • Work and behave in accordance with FFS’s standards of conduct at all times.
  • Are able to carry out other reasonable duties and attend meetings as required.

4. Sales & Marketing Activity

  • To build a sustainable children’s activity client base by continually adding new clients and retaining current clients.
  • To ensure the use of CAP’s activity plans, prepared and delivered in advance of each holiday.
  • Manage the FFS Children’s Activity budget to ensure that revenue targets, as well as profit targets, are achieved.
  • Ensure the highest quality of marketing material for Leisure Partner use is delivered on a consistent basis
  • Support and drive all marketing strategies, promotions and initiatives throughout the network whilst liaising with other departments to integrate and maintain team spirit.

5. Management of all Children’s Activity Related Activities

  • Implement and manage the Children’s Activity Policies and Procedures as per FFS expectations.
  • Ensure all CAP’s have a full understanding of the delivery programme as well as their roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure all CAP’s receive the coaching, support and development required to ensure they achieve their individual targets and realise their full-time career benchmark.
  • Look to continually improve the Children’s Activity services through regular and constructive feedback to the Fit For Sport Regional Manager and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Ensure the Leisure Partner General Manager is kept fully informed of all relevant issues at all times.
  • Support the management of all specific programme operations and all Children’s Activity staff.

6. Children’s Activity Administration and Reports

  • Produce weekly and monthly reports and analyse information from the monthly reports and produce plans to improve or rectify problem areas
  • Ensure all CAP’s adhere to the Leisure Partners operational expectations and standards.
  • Ensure that all Children’s Activities settings pass all internal Quality Assurance visits and OFSTED visits.

Qualifications & Safeguarding:
It is highly desirable (HD) that you present one of the following although this is not essential.

  • Level 1 Coaching - (Any Sport) (HD)
  • NVQ Level 2, BTEC, Early Years Educator (HD)
  • NVQ Level 3, BTEC, Early years Educator (HD)
  • NVQ Level 2, BTEC, Children & Young People (HD)
  • NVQ Level 3, BTEC, Children & Young People (HD)
  • NVQ Level 2, BTEC, Playwork (HD)
  • NVQ Level 3, BTEC, Playwork (HD)
  • Football Association Level 2 or Higher (HD)
  • Cricket England or Wales Cricket Board Level 2 Coaching or higher (HD)
  • Rugby (league or Union) RFL Coaching level 2 (HD)
  • 1st for Sport - Level 2 NGB Award - (Any Sport) (HD)
  • Safeguarding Awareness (HD)
  • 1st for Sport - Level 2 Supporting the Delivery of PE & School Sports (HD)
  • 1st for Sport - Level 3 Supporting the Delivery of PE & School Sports (HD)
  • Active IQ - Level 2 Leading Health Related Activity Sessions (HD)
  • Active IQ - Level 2Certificate in Delivering Behaviour Management & Physical Activity to Under 5's (HD)
  • Active IQ - Level 3 Supporting the Delivery of PE & Schools Sport (HD)
  • Sports Leaders - Level 2 Activity Leadership Intermediate apprenticeship (HD)
  • University Degree - Physical Education (HD)
  • University Degree - Sports Science (Specific modules Req'd) (HD)
  • PGCE - with experience in in a PE, Physical Activity or Sports Coaching (HD)
  • QTS - with experience in in a PE, Physical Activity or Sports Coaching (HD)
  • First Aid (HD)
  • Paediatric First Aid (HD)
  • Full, Clean, UK Driving License Over 21 Years of Age (HD)
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (HD)
