Description

The Tasty Ski Company is looking for a year-round full-time Head Chef to start 1 May 2018.  This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chef in one of the few full time cheffing jobs in the french Alps. The annual gross pay is £18,000 including all benefits with 6 weeks holiday per year.

Our Head Chef is responsible for creating our winter and summer menus that are used across all of our chalets. At the start of the winter season you will train our team of chalet chefs using your menu during our 2 week training programme. During the season you will maintain the standards of the kitchens and menus across our chalets. Your responsiblities include kitchen and food inspections, stock checks, supplier ordering, budget management, and food hygiene. Although you will not be working a a specific chalet you will be required to fill in for chefs for illnesses and injuries.

During the summer you will be the chalet chef in one of our chalets in either Morzine or Le Grand Massif. Tasty Ski operates 3 catered chalets during the summer. 

Outside of the winter and summer seasons you will be required to work 5 days a week (Monday - Friday) in a variety of roles - menu planning, computer admin, painting, decorating, stock taking, supplier admin, and anything else in preparation for the new season!

What we can offer you

£18,000 gross salary per year.

The company provides the Head Chef with travel costs to and from the UK, accommmodation in resort, food during the summer, winter lift pass and ski hire. These benefits are deducted from the gross salary.

Various industry recognised training courses are included in the employment package at the expense of the company - for example HACCP courses.

Requirements

Required experience

Minimum of 1 year experience as a sous chef or equivalent. It is important that you have experience in managing a kitchen - stock checks, supplier ordering etc.

A full cleaning driving license and aged 23 or over.

Michelin star experience and HACCP and COSHH procedure implementation preferred but not essential.

UK/EU passport holder, UK national insurance number and UK bank account.
