Description

An opportunity has arisen within the Climbing Centre for a proactive, self-motivated and highly organised individual to join our team.

The post holder will manage the Surrey Sports Park Climbing Centre (Surrey Summit) and support the development of courses, sessions, camps and events within Surrey Summit. This includes the close management of the department, including ensuring that the centre operates to the highest possible levels of safety, staff development and customer service.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate must have line management experience, as they will be involved in all aspects of management, including recruitment, induction, training, rotas, staff appraisals and performance management.
  • Climbing qualification (CWI or above) - essential
  • Climbing Coaching Qualification (CMLA, Foundation/Development/Performance Coach) - desirable
  • Extensive experience of working within the climbing industry with a broad knowledge of climbing best practice and current industry standards, including but not limited to: NICAS, , ABC, BMC, staff development, route setting and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety regulations, with particular reference to the climbing industry.
