Head of River - BCU Level 3 Canoe 

The Head of Paddlesports (Ardeche River) assists the Activity Manager in delivering safe activities to all guests, managing the Paddlesports Instructional team and delivering any training that may be required. Part of the role includes interacting daily with the guests and being involved in Centre life. This role is only available in Savane.

Requirements

 

 What we’re looking for…


The Head of River is responsible for the management of our ever popular two day descent on the Ardeche River (Grade 2 white water). You will also be assisting the Activity Manager with various duties including monitoring, training, staff appraisals and safety checks.

If you have high standards, are highly motivated and have excellent people skills Acorn is the company for you!  We’re looking for staff to deliver excellent customer service to our guests, whilst being a safe and positive role model for them. As part of the role, you will also be required to interact daily with the guests and get involved in all aspects of centre life from cleaning and serving at meal times to site work.

If you enjoy mucking in and working hard whilst managing a key part of our guests experience in a fantastic location, then we want you to apply! We are ideally looking for people with experience of staff management and working in outdoor adventure with young people between 7-17 years old and the following:

  • BCU Level 3 Canoe
  • 21+ years old
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

All our staff participate in a comprehensive induction & training programme at centre and there are post-season training opportunities to gain NGB qualifications in different activities. We are looking for people who can ideally commit to working the full season from early April 2019.

All applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a permanent UK National Insurance number and a UK bank account. We will be unable to take your application further before they have been obtained. We are unable to apply for a work visa/permit on behalf of an applicant.

A current Enhanced DBS Check or overseas equivalent is required for successful applicants.
