Working for Newlands Adventure Centre & Keswick Climbing Wall offers you fantastic opportunities to develop your own personal skills!

We can give you the experience and knowledge of the great outdoors like no others!

We are looking for talented and qualified Instructors to work between both centres who have the experience of working with school children but are mature enough to adapt to a more varied client base.

We need instructors that wish to develop personally and who are always ready to learn that little bit more.

How does my day look?

Once you have got up, had your morning Coffee, preformed your Sun Dance to the Outdoor Instructing Gods for good Weather, Instructors will be running two half day activity's sessions per day when we have Groups staying on Multi Activity holidays, these include:

• Ghyll Scrambling

• Kayaking

• Paddleboarding

• Outdoor or Indoor Rock Climbing

• High Ropes

• Archery

• Mountain Biking

• Mountain Walks

• Team Building Exercises

In addition, you can expect a top quality Full English Breakfast, Cereal and toast, Filling Hot Lunch and an Evening Meal after work. As you can see, you will not go hungry on our watch!

Also, you can expect to work an average of:

• Two-bar duties per month when you remain on site and act as bar staff and emergency contact for group leaders between 9.00pm & 11.30pm
• These roles are included in your monthly hours over a 17-week reference period.

Activity days are highly structured as programmes must run on time; however, you must also be adaptable to changes in our programmes.

Instructors are not required to supervise the groups out of activity times, during meals or at bedtime.

You will also instruct at Keswick Climbing Wall; this is a great opportunity for you to learn or enhance your climbing knowledge and skills.

At our Climbing Wall we do not only offer indoor climbing sessions...

Although Instructing occupies the majority your time It must be stressed that a Newlands Instructor does more than just instruct. On non-activity or instructing days there will be equipment checks to complete and centre grounds maintenance at both sites, we have a high standard of cleanliness across our company and want to maintain that throughout the whole season.

On changeover days everyone gets involved in assisting our General Assistants in preparing the Centre for the arrival of the next group at Newlands.

An instructor will work a five-day week with two days off, which may not fall on the same days, each week No two days are the same at Newlands Adventure Centre and Keswick Climbing Wall leading to a varied, exciting and enjoyable work life!
