Description

We are looking to recruit an instructor to work with our PE department for the academic year starting September 2018.  At QE we offer a wide range of Outdoor Activities including Surfing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Hill Walking and Winter Mountaineering.

This position will involve working with our PE department in delivering BTEC courses and our after-school activities programme within PE and Outdoor Education. You will be expected to assist with Ten Tors and Duke of Edinburgh provision.

This is a temporary post for 2 years until 31 August 2020, in the first instance, due to curriculum needs.

Requirements

NGB qualifications for a variety of outdoor activities are essential and applicants would be expected to hold all of the following: Climbing Wall Instructor, Mountain Leader or Moorland Leader (Summer), UKCC BCU Level Two Coach with 4* leader in a specific discipline, Mountain Bike Trail Leader or equivalent.

Applicants would be required to undertake a full DBS check. A full D1 minibus driving licence or entitlement to drive passenger carrying vehicles (pre 1997 driving licence) is desirable.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly successful department whilst gaining experience in the delivery of PE and Outdoor Education to a wide range of young people. The ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic and forward-thinking department consisting of 9 teachers is paramount to the role.
