Description

A Wilderness Way Ltd are currently recruiting for Residential Support Workers  working with children and young people.

As a Registered Crisis Intervention Service and Residential Children's Home provider in Cumbria, Northumberland and South Scotland, we provide both short term placements of up to 17 weeks providing a staff ratio of 2:1 through to full residential care for children with EBD.

About the Role

  • Working alongside staff teams, provide a high standard of care for the Young People in your charge.
  • To encourage the Young People to participate in outdoor activities.
  • To be alert to signs of distress or abuse to ensure Young People are monitored and protected
  • To assist in the motivation of Young People to take an active part in decision making and be involved in the design and delivery of the care they receive.
  • To ensure record keeping and administration responsibilities of the team are met, including care plans, day sheets, etc.
  • To ensure high standards of safe working practices at all times.

Requirements

  • Diploma Level 3 qualified in Children and Young People’s workforce - Desirable
  • Full UK Driving Licence - Essential
  • Ability to work shifts including weekends and evening and sleep-ins - Essential
  • Knowledge of the National Care Standards
  • To work as part of a team and use own initiative when required
