  • Duration

One of the multiple impacts of the COVID 19 lockdowns on Boulders has been to our instructional activity. As the country slowly eases out of lockdown, we are looking to relaunch our instructional activity.

This role will take on full responsibility for the whole programme of instruction across both sites.  This includes the recruitment of a new team of instructors from freelance and zero hours, to full time contracted employees. The chosen candidate will also be responsible for the induction and training of the new staff and retraining of current team, implementing and upholding high levels of professional conduct and standards, and doing regular quality assessments of instruction being delivered.  The role will also put in place a CPD (continued professional development) plan for all contracted instructors to take them further in their careers and set Boulders apart as an employer of choice for those in our industry.
Also included in the role is the management of the product timetable, staff rota’ing to deliver the timetable, and dealing with any staff absence management required.  You will also be asked to maintain meticulous records relating to all staff on your team, as well as syllabus’, risk assessments, health and safety, and equipment management.

As a self-starter, you will be able to work independently, under your own initiative, reporting regularly to head office to update us on activities.  You will need experience in building your team, taking on everything from recruitment through to departure.  You will have support from the 2-3 duty senior instructors and key holders locally and remote support from head office.
Primary areas of responsibility are as follows:
·         Organise and deliver all instructional activity across all Boulders sites (current and future)
·         Recruit, manage, lead and inspire a team of employed and freelance instructors
·         Constantly review and improve our instructional product suite in line with latest industry trends and guidelines
·         Be accountable for a consistent high-quality product offering and customer service
·         Health and safety associated with instructional activity
