Team Evolution are looking to recruit English Literature and Business teachers with the ability to connect meaningfully with students both in and outside of the classroom, who are intellectually curious, have an outstanding academic background, and who will be an active participant in our academic, athletic, and residential programmes. Candidates must be prepared to tutor students from the ages of 10 – 18 years old, based on the curriculum of their UK schools. The Team Evolution alpine race academy is based in Radstadt, Austria, and the Programme is designed for athletes looking to work within a professional structure that is dedicated to their development both on and off the slopes.

Start Date: November – April (optional stand-alone camps from September)

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Provide a safe and secure learning environment for all student athletes and staff.

• Deliver educational support based on individual athlete set work from UK schools, for 5 days per week for 3 hours per day. Usually Mon – Fri, although additional tuition may be required at weekends, and hours and days may vary due to event schedule.

• Plan, prepare and deliver tutoring based on curriculum from students UK schools that facilitates retention of knowledge, as well as active learning experiences.

• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

• Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs dependent on age, ability and exam board.

• Use relevant technology to support and further learning.

• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development, including completion of reports following each training block.

• Schedule, assign and assess class work, tests and extra-curricular projects.

• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, highlighting any concerns to Educational Programme staff.

• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development via Google-Drives.

• Participate in educational and broader programme meetings, engaging in the whole Team Evolution Programme development.

• Provide academic support, both in person and online, during extended ski camps, race camps away from base, or via remote teaching when required.

• Keep up to date with developments in subject areas, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with Schools Liaison, Programme Director, coaches, individual students and, where relevant, parents, on a regular basis.

• Collaborate with peers to enhance the Educational Programme.

• Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Programme Director.

Education and Experience 

• Tutoring experience in English Literature. In class teaching experience preferred.

• Degree Level qualification preferred.

• Previous experience or demonstrated ability to work with teenagers.

• Experience with online teaching platforms and word processing programmes.

• Prior involvement in competitive sports.

• Excitement about embracing our academic programme to help create an educational and personal development programme for our student-athletes during the winter months.

• Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate, DBS Check & Clean Driving License.
