Description

PGL are recruiting passionate French speakers to deliver our various Language products and bring Language to life at our residential activity centre.

PGL is the UK's market leading provider of activity holidays and study courses for young people with fantastic career development and training opportunities. We have been offering young guests the experience of a lifetime since 1957 and now operate at 24 locations across the UK, France and Spain.

We have employment opportunities for fluent French-speakers, graduates of French and students looking for a sandwich year work placement in France at our activity centre in Normandy.

As a Tour Leader you'll guide and inspire our guests as they indulge themselves in another culture. From historic landmarks to rustic markets, you'll accompany visiting school groups on excursions to famous places of interest. We’ll provide training to help you develop an in-depth knowledge of the excursion destinations;

Key responsibilities:

  • You’ll liaise with the Party Leader to coordinate their weekly itinerary;
  • Accompany the group on excursions ensuring their visits run as smoothly as possible;
  • Make travel arrangements and booking tickets etc. according to the itinerary;
  • Organise and run evening entertainment programmes.



 

Requirements

Ideally, we are looking for fluent French speakers (preferably degree level), as you will be the person the person the party leader and the children rely on to ensure their tour runs smoothly. In addition to language skills, you will need to be highly organised and have previous experience of working with children in either a voluntary or paid capacity.

Knowledge of the country you'll be working in will also be advantageous as will previous experience of visiting the major landmarks and tourist attractions.

Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure, which PGL will pay for. You need to possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for employment with PGL.
